About and Important Notices - Introduction, Privacy, Terms of Use, Etc.

In a time of when someone needs information from any city or community in Santa Clara County, the medium of getting the information is either via social media, local or community newspapers, or even on the radio. However, the number of local sources of getting to know what's happening in your neighborhood is decreasing. The Santa Clara Valley Report is a dedicated site of where any volunteers are willing to look at issues surrounding any city or community within Santa Clara County, whether it's crime, politics, history, sports, weather, or anything in between. Any article of interest that never made the headlines in local news is what this site would emphasize on.

The problem of gathering information is more of a financial matter, and distribution on any medium does come with a cost. With this site, the website does not distribute on paper. You write your story, distributed online and on the go - it's generally about getting the facts.

While the blog is only a site that you write your stories in, you can sometimes write your opinion. If you do like to write your opinion, feel free to do so - please note that there is little tolerance for language or nudity content, as well as mentioning any of your personal biases or party position.

When possible on any content you write, provide your own pictures - it cannot be from sources with copyrighted material or any trademarks without the permission of the owner. Sources from television reports are permitted, although news stations are not generally mentioned unless permission is granted by such.

Here's the breakdown of what to expect...

WRITING IN THIS BLOG: Think of this as a news story within the community. Whether if it's a crime, a public meeting, road construction, or anything that may affect our lives in Santa Clara County, tell the public about it - use common sense. Links to outside sources may NOT have any nudity or advertisements that are harmful to the computer - the use of a computer add-in like Web of Trust (WOT) is strongly advised. Any inquiries regarding links that you found is actually true, but may have a privacy concern can send an e-mail at the bottom. Writing any information that is deliberately false and not real stories are NOT allowed.

PICTURES/TRADEMARKS/LOGOS: The use of any word marks, service marks, or trademarks on this blog site is NOT permitted. For pictures without word marks, service marks, or trademarks, I recommend using external links to any pictures within the site, as most publishers generally never allow people to repost pictures on any site, including this blog site.

COMMUNITY CALENDAR: The community calendar consists of a MINIMUM of three events happening within Santa Clara County. It may consist of a free giveaway, a grand opening, a free concert, or anything that is totally free. For each event, there is a detailed description with anything the public needs to know, plus either additional details of what's allowed and what's not allowed, the cost of an event, or important notices from the organizer. Links and/or photos must be provided in order to contribute.

CONTESTS: The use of this website to run contests are NOT allowed, as this blog is only designed to write articles about what is happening in Santa Clara County. However, contests at events can be mentioned when writing articles.

Lots of contributors are needed to create and edit stories based on what you see - all that is required is that you must either work or live in Santa Clara County AND/OR have knowledge of the area.
